What is strip-till?

What is strip-till?

A technology in which the soil is prepared only in the strip of the future sowing. The inter-rows stay undisturbed and covered with crop residue, so intensive preparation of the root zone can be combined with limited interference in the rest of the field.

Why is it worth it?

  • Saving time and fuel

One machine performs several operations at once, which cuts the number of passes across the field.

  • Soil protection

Crop residue on the surface protects the soil from erosion and drying out, and improves its structure.

  • Better use of water

The loosened strip lets water reach the roots, while the inter-rows limit evaporation.

  • More stable yields

Plants get a better start and optimal conditions throughout the growing season.

  • Lower production costs

Fewer passes, lower fuel use and less wear on wearing parts mean real savings.

Who is it for?

Strip-till works on farms of every size — on light soils as well as heavy ones. It is a solution for farmers who want to raise production efficiency while looking after the condition and future of their soils.

  • Farms aiming for high yields
  • Farmers looking for savings
  • Soils prone to erosion and drying out
  • Farms growing maize, cereals, oilseed rape and other row crops

An investment in the future

Strip-till is a technology that already answers the challenges of modern farming — climate change, rising costs and the need to produce food in a sustainable way. It is a step towards a modern and profitable farm.
